Angelspit are unique and one of the most consistently entertaining crossover acts in the world.
“Mixing industrial with rock and punk, utilising home-made electronic instruments and an incredible visual aesthetic to their releases, the music sounds like a riot and the image is nothing short of art.”
ANGELSPIT – THE PRODUCT
This latest album sees mainman Zoog Von Rock and guitarist George Bikos bring the chaos, along with some superb guests (Helalyn Flowers, Chant, Lab4, Miss Ballistic and more).
The music of Angelspit is heavy, hard and great to dance to and sounds like no other act out there. The driving rhythms, chopped up guitars, insane electronic manipulations and staccato vocals are all present and correct, but there’s a vicious drive to the album which makes it seem a little more violent and unhinged than other recent releases in their catalogue. The song writing is top-notch again and adds some interesting faux-pop elements here and there, which work beautifully with the band’s trademark bite. The snooty industrial elite aren’t big fans, but you know what? Screw elitism. This is quality.
At points evocative of their breakout album ‘Krankhaus’, songs like the pounding ‘Because God’, the sleazy ‘Pretty Dead Boys’, the old-school industrial bounce of ‘Velocity’ and the brooding ‘Weapon Of Choice’ all grab you by the throat and fling you at a sweaty dance-floor. The band are fantastic live, but it’s on the disc where they can really obliterate minds. ‘The Product‘ is a brave and determined album of futuristic industrial punk tunes that will hopefully see Angelspit break out to a much wider audience.
