I don’t have any analogue synths ‘coz my budget won’t stretch at the moment. I only use VST synths (Free ones available through Computer Magazine and kvraudio, amongst other places) and a cheap casio GM capable keyboard. I want to get one of those little keyboards withe the assignable envelope control knobs eventually…
I search for the cheapest options.When it comes to eriting songs I find writing what you want to say in a form that can be sung without sounding really cheesy is hardest. Then it’s just finding the right melody and chords to fit the mood of what you’re saying. (I often find that the melody comes first). Then the tedious process of arranging and mixing which I don’t usually have time for.
