03 : JUNE : 08 Don't f*ck with Angelspit! Angelspit is a two-piece industrial rock band based in Sydney, Australia. Formed in 2004 and toured through Australia and New Zealand supporting bands such as KMFDM, Tankt, Ikon and Angel Theory. We checked them out at the Summer Darkness Festival and gave DestroyX (vocals, distortion) and ZooG (vocals, keyboards, vocoder) the following questions;
First time in the Netherlands? Must be great to travel over the whole world? Yes, it was our first time in the Netherlands
– it seriously rocks! The alternative scene is brilliant,
we were so impressed with the effort everyone took in their look.
The crowds were very enthusiastic and friendly.
In the studio you are a duo. How does the live group looks like? Two people, strategically placed gear, much sweat, chaos and Rock’n’Roll. We give every show everything we have.
You (the chick) are combining this all with a study on the university, what kind off study do you do? And how is this going with the tour and all? Brutal crimes of the 20th Century – majoring in Serial Killers and Cannibal/Ritualistic crimes….hence my time in Germany. USA leads the world in Serial Killer Crimes. German leads the world for Canibal/ritualist crimes.
In 2006 you released your debut Krankhaus. This year you released a remix album with different versions from bands like Combichrist and Angel Theory. How did you manage these to let them do these remixes? We blackmailed them.
You also contacted some artists that didn’t replied on your request? Yes. Kenny G just wasn’t interested. This was a devastating blow to us.
Is the live show filled with the remix or the original versions? Original. You didn't put much effort into these questions did you?
Can we expect some new songs also? Never play anything live before it is released? A third of our set is from our previous CD “Nurse Grenade”, third from “Krankhaus” and third of new material. It’s very important to us to try stuff out first.
On stage you perform with wigs on and some nice make-up, how long are you busy with this all before you go on stage? Can I ask you (moron interviewer) a question…?
Wouldn’t you rather perform in your baggy pants or kind? shit – that is a really brilliant idea! Man, why didn’t we think of that? You are a fucking genius.
After the today you are going to England and Germany until November. How does the live of Angelspit look like after that? We’ll be focusing on our album and some other remixes.
I read that one of your favorite bands (the chick) is smashing pumpkins, checked them out already? Yes, dickhead.
Besides making music, are there some other things you would like to do in the future? Implement a law where interviews are shot on-sight for sport.
