03 : JUNE : 08
How did you guys form and how was it when
you first started?
We started making zines together in 2002. We started
making art together in the form of zines. Destroyx made several
very cool zines and ran a zine distro called Vox Populis. I helped
her run the distro and also started making zines.
We started using the zine content as lyrics and the music was inspired
by what we were listening to: Sonic Youth, Skinny Puppy, Rage Against
The Machine, Marilyn Manson, Prodigy, Smashing Pumpkins, KMFDM...
We did a remix for a friend’s band in April 2004, then spent
the June/July of that year writing our first EP “Nurse Grenade”
– which we released in October 2004.
I kinda took off from there.
What was your biggest accomplishment in
your music career?
Completing an album! The fact that we could remain
focused and determined enough to see it through to completion is
a great accomplishment.
Obviously gigging in the USA and Europe were amazing experiences.
Meeting so many brilliant people and being inspired by them was
awesome.
What can you tell us about your new album?
It’s nearly completed!!! (and still untitled).
We’ve been listening to the ideas in our first EP “Nurse
Grenade”. These tracks are very live and industrial punk sounding.
Big guitars, simple slamming beats, raw destructive synths and chanting
vocals. We are recording live drums and metallic percussion for
these.
The other tracks are a result of us experimenting with completely
different styles – like Noise Vs R’n’B, Cyberpunk
Vs Country. It sounds like a weird mis-match, but the tracks THUMP
LIKE HELL!
This album sounds really massive! We’re made the guitars sound
nasty, but they sit in the mix in such a way that they give the
synths more room to be heard.
We are really happy with the lyrics. We’ve worked hard to
make lyrics that actually say something. We have been inspired by
the people we’ve met whilst in Europe-USA – we’ve
wanted to write lyrics for them.
What advice do you have for musicians,
artist, and writers?
Get Active. Throw away your TV. Make the art and
music you have always wanted to.
DO NOT STOP MAKING YOUR ART!!!
No matter how lo-fi your music is, it is still your ART. Put effort
and time into it.
Remember, there are many people in the Goth/Industrial
scene who are also disgruntled with the current state of music.
These people will be drawn to you if you put passion and sincerity
into your music.
What is your plans for 2008?
Release the new CD, tour Australia, get set up
and start doing more art, music and remixes.
We really want to get to the USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROCK!
